Bror Lefin Trophy

The first round of the Bror Lefin Trophy brought a mix of comfortable wins and a few results that stood out. Kudus To You were the pick of the performances, putting up 81 to beat fellow Reality League side Unbeatables RL 81–56 in the highest score of the round. By 'Eck also went through in style with a strong 73–58 win over Henry C FC, while Makrillarna had too much for GAIS, winning 53–31 in an all-Wedberg tie between teams with the same manager.

Elsewhere, a few Masterleague sides did exactly what you would expect. Replacements swept aside Reality League team Whiteadders 68–27, CoYS FC were never in trouble against Whalley Range FC 69–30, and Cornish Reds saw off Moatys Maniacs 68–51. The closest game of the round went to Unbeatables, who edged St Ives Seagulls 48–47, while Pukki Bowl FC also scraped through by a point against Shadwell Town RL.

It was a steady start, but the next round should sort out who is really in this to win it.

MOTW

Manager of the Week would normally have gone to Kudus To You after putting up such a big score, but as I manage them I also know they got their cup fixtures the wrong way round. They meant to play their Bench Boost for the John Walsh Cup semi-final second leg this weekend in Gameweek 22, not the Bror Lefin Trophy, which they have virtually no chance of winning.

The next highest score was shared by Ade and Robin, both hitting 73 for By Eck and Red Exiles respectively, but Ade takes the award for knocking out a higher-placed side, while Robin had a more straightforward job against the lower-placed Reality League team they faced.

Worst MOTW goes to Bertil after Whalley Range FC could only manage 30 points.
