Here we are managers, on the bright, shiny new Swengland website. Well done Tom for sorting this out and relieving me of the statistic duties in terms of putting them all up onto the desktop and the mobile website which was a right pain in the arse. This will give me more time to entertain you with my cut and thrust wit and repartee. And for those Swedish managers, who don’t want to have to look all that up in a lexicon that means extra bullshit.
Let’s start with the Bror Lefin this week. The holders Wingdings got off to a nervous start in the match of the round, narrowly defeating, Zeko and The Bunnymen, 67-61. Another Williams Mafia team, the Four Lions put out Alpha Athletic, but no such luck for their namesake in the Reality League who went down to Van der Ven diagram. Form team in Matchleague Three, Hoofball, were involved in a high scoring match with Berry Samuelson’s Commitments. Despite their good form they were unable to overcome our Swedish manager and went down 89 points to 74.
I was pleased to see my Bongo Furies, get through at the expense of Atleterna. Pontus had 85 points to his credit, but had no one to apply them to as he cruised through with a bye.
So, to conclude, all the usual suspects are through to the next round, apart from Zeko and the Bunnymen.
SWEDEN
In case you missed it in the last update, I am going to be coming to Sweden. I will be in Sweden in February 19-23, so I am suggesting a Swengland et-together on Saturday the 22nd seats in a pub showing Premier League football is a necessity and I will ask Berry to sort all that out. Looking forward to seeing everybody. And you can look forward to getting your awards for 2023-24.
MASTERLEAGUES
ALLSWENGLAND: the game of musical chairs resumes this week with Victorious Secret, leading the AllSwengland by ten points from Dave Lloyd’s COYS. A t the other end, I still haven’t managed to haul myself off the bottom, despite a MOTW in round 19. But, I am a mere 6 points behind Rustan now so my Reality team, that just underwent a massive transfer session is within sight of safety. Congrats to our Vinny manager Nosy who was MOTW this week. Well done Berry for his MOTW in Sweden, 89 points. Shadwell Town RL were the best of Cornish and COYS topped the Champions League for the week.

FANTASY CHALLENGE: the theme for the latest round of fantasy challenge, was to pick players who had been at their clubs for five seasons or more, who would score double points. Tom won the manager of the week award by just one point from myself, scoring 42 points, a low score which tells me that not many players have been at their clubs for more than five seasons did very well last week. It’s worth pointing out, however that, contrary to what I thought at the beginning of the season, you don’t have to pick players with that qualification. It is possible to just pick a normal team of normal players. Sometimes it’s five aside sometimes it’s seven aside and sometimes it’s 11 aside. It depends on the amount of players you are able to pick. Personally, I think it’s a lot of fun but the danger is if you forget to pick your team you are a ‘DNP’ and score zero points. We do have one manager in the league who only picked one team, Lorna, who has propped up the league since round one with 15 points. For this round, it’s back to 5 aside, and the budget is restricted to 25,000,000. More next week, I’m just going to pick my team now, I do not wish to be’ DNP’!

Lovely stuff. Thanks John.
