With two games to go, ST IVES SEAGULLS moved three points clear at the top after a narrow 61-58 win over VICTORIOUS SECRET. It was a tight result rather than a statement performance, but it leaves them in the strongest position heading into the final fortnight.
WILLS WINGDINGS missed the chance to keep pace, losing 57-61 to REPLACEMENTS. They remain second on 51 points, three behind ST IVES SEAGULLS, but the leaders now have the stronger position going into the final two weeks. For REPLACEMENTS, it was a useful win that keeps them in touch with the crowded middle of the table.
FOREVER QPR moved into third with a 64-53 win over MOATY'S MANIACS. They are now on 42 points after four straight wins, while TASTUR BONDAI BARCA dropped to fourth after a 60-55 defeat to SHADWELL TOWN.
Behind them, the race remains tight. FOSSIL PARK EAST beat COYS FC 61-44, while JDEACON7 edged CALZIO 62-57. That leaves COYS FC and JDEACON7 level on 37 points, with UNBEATABLES and REPLACEMENTS just behind on 36.
At the bottom, SHADWELL TOWN are already relegated despite this week’s win. With only six points left to play for, they can no longer climb out of the bottom three. The other two relegation places are still open, with CALZIO and DZEKO & THE BUNNYMEN both on 27 points, four behind MOATY'S MANIACS, VICTORIOUS SECRET and FOSSIL PARK EAST.
DZEKO & THE BUNNYMEN kept themselves in the fight with a 63-58 win over UNBEATABLES, while CALZIO missed the chance to close the gap. The title race is still open, but ST IVES SEAGULLS have the advantage, while the relegation fight now centres on who joins SHADWELL TOWN in going down.
With two games to go, JURYSOUT are promoted, but the title is still not settled after a 51-59 defeat to TEAM GOTLAND. They remain top on 51 points, but the gap has narrowed enough to keep the final two weeks meaningful.
CHACARITA moved up to second with a 73-64 win over COMMITMENTS. It was an important result at the top end of the table, taking them onto 46 points and keeping them in the title race as well as strengthening their promotion position.
GREMLINS dropped to third after a 74-55 defeat to ALPHA ATHLETIC. They remain in the promotion places on 45 points, but that loss has left the door open behind them.
EZE DOES IT missed the chance to move into the top three, losing 55-59 to MISSING LINK, while MAFIA FOUR LIONS took advantage with a 58-52 win over TEAM GEORGIES BOYS. With the top three going up and no play-offs this season, CHACARITA, GREMLINS, EZE DOES IT and MAFIA FOUR LIONS are still all involved in the promotion picture.
Further down, BADLY GOOD beat IFK HARLTONHAM 58-43, while BY 'ECK continued their strong finish with a 67-54 win over ATLETERNA. TEAM GOTLAND also produced one of the results of the week, beating the leaders and moving onto 30 points.
At the bottom, the relegation places are now confirmed. IFK HARLTONHAM, TEAM GEORGIES BOYS and ATLETERNA are all down, with none of them able to catch TEAM GOTLAND. The title is still to be decided, while the final promotion places remain the main focus heading into the last two games.
Division 2
With two games to go, GLORY GLORY are almost living up to their name, but the title is still not settled after a 52-48 defeat to REAL ALE ROVERS. They remain top on 49 points, but the gap has narrowed and the final two weeks still have something on them.
REAL ALE ROVERS moved up to second with that win, reaching 47 points and putting themselves in a strong position for promotion. HOOFBALL also climbed into the top three after a 68-61 win over SPECKLED JIMS, moving onto 46 points.
RED EXILES dropped to fourth after a 46-49 defeat to CORNISH REDS. They are still only one point outside the promotion places, but this was a costly result at a crucial stage. CORNISH REDS are now level with BECKENBAURFLY on 42 points after BECKENBAURFLY beat WHALLEY RANGE FC 49-45.
Further down, HENRY C FC edged GOTHATTERS FC 58-57, while LALJILAND FC beat BONGO FURY 43-30. KAMIKAZEES also picked up a useful 48-31 win over MAKRILLARNA, keeping their hopes of avoiding the wooden spoon just about alive.
There is no relegation from Division 2, but there is still plenty to play for at both ends. The promotion race now has REAL ALE ROVERS, HOOFBALL and RED EXILES separated by just two points behind GLORY GLORY, while KAMIKAZEES, GOTHATTERS FC and MAKRILLARNA are still fighting to avoid finishing bottom.
Reality League
With two games to go, the Reality League title race is locked together at the top. FOREVERGAIS and PUKKI BOWL FC are both on 42 points after winning again this week, with FOREVERGAIS staying first on goal difference.
FOREVERGAIS beat THEKUDOSTOUCH 62-52, keeping their lead intact and preserving a strong goal difference advantage of +223. PUKKI BOWL FC matched them with a narrow 55-53 win over WILLS WINGDINGS RL, but their +117 goal difference means they may still need FOREVERGAIS to slip over the final two games.
Behind them, NO KANE DO moved onto 36 points with a convincing 72-47 win over WHITEADDERS, while KUDUS TO YOU also reached 36 after edging UNBEATABLES RL 66-64. Both are still mathematically in range, but the title race now looks firmly centred on the top two.
MAFIA FOUR LIONS RL moved up to fifth after beating GAIS 60-53, while SHADWELL TOWN RL continued their strong finish with a 59-41 win over BONGO FURY RL. That result leaves BONGO FURY RL sixth after five straight defeats.
At the bottom, WHITEADDERS remain last on 16 points after defeat to NO KANE DO, with WILLS WINGDINGS RL two points above them on 18. The title fight is between FOREVERGAIS and PUKKI BOWL FC, while WHITEADDERS and WILLS WINGDINGS RL are left trying to avoid the wooden spoon.
MOTW
Manager of the Week goes to Nigel, whose ALPHA ATHLETIC side posted the highest AllSwengland score of the week with 74 points. It was a strong performance at a crucial stage of the Division 1 promotion race.
Worst Manager of the Week goes to Scales of BONGO FURY RL, who scored just 30 points. After taking Manager of the Week last week for his cup performance, and Worst Manager of the Week the week before that, Scales has now managed to sandwich his cup heroics between two difficult league weeks..
Cheers 🤓
