Matchleague Premier
Week 22 saw some important results across the Matchleague Premier, notably at the top, where Tastur Bondai Barca reclaimed first place after a solid 95–74 win against Forever QPR. Barca now hold a three-point lead over Dzeko & The Bunnymen, who suffered their second consecutive loss, going down 85–68 to Wills Wingdings.
COYS FC delivered a standout result, comfortably beating Replacements 95–49, moving up two places into third. Meanwhile, JDeacon7 secured their second consecutive victory, defeating struggling IFK Harltonham 83–68 to climb into fifth.
Elsewhere, Unbeatables earned a hard-fought 90–82 win over bottom side Alpha Athletic, maintaining eighth position. Victorious Secret put an end to their three-match losing streak with a strong 89–57 victory against Moaty’s Maniacs, lifting them to ninth.
Towards the bottom, Badly Good recorded a valuable 73–61 win against Fossil Park East, providing a much-needed boost in their battle against relegation. Despite the win, they remain in 12th, ahead of IFK Harltonham and Alpha Athletic, who continue to occupy the relegation places.
With the title race intensifying and relegation scrap heating up, the final weeks promise plenty more twists and turns.
Matchleague Division 1
In Div 1, leaders Calzio stumbled at home, losing a high-scoring match to Abone FC, who earned an impressive 88–82 away victory. Despite the setback, Calzio maintain a comfortable five-point cushion at the top.
Second-placed St Ives Seagulls took advantage of that slip, edging out relegation-threatened Beckenbaurfly 84–70, to close the gap slightly. Shadwell Town continued their push for promotion, securing an emphatic 96–73 victory over Real Ale Rovers to remain just a point behind in third.
Empire of the Son made it three wins on the bounce, comfortably overcoming bottom side Gothatters FC 88–69. This keeps Empire firmly in playoff contention in fourth, while Gothatters stay rooted to the foot of the table, albeit only on points difference.
Mafia Four Lions delivered an impressive performance, beating Jurysout 95–73 to climb into fifth, while their opponents dropped to sixth after consecutive defeats. Commitments edged past Missing Link in a high-scoring contest, taking the points with a tight 91–86 result, which lifts them to seventh.
Gremlins claimed another convincing win, seeing off Team Gotland comfortably 89–51. The victory boosts their playoff hopes, while Gotland slip to eighth.
At the lower end, Abone FC’s surprise victory moves them clear of immediate danger, up to 11th, while Real Ale Rovers slip back to 12th and into the relegation zone alongside Beckenbaurfly and struggling Gothatters FC.
With just a handful of matches remaining, both promotion chases and relegation battles remain wide open.
Division 2 Playoff Semi-final First Leg
Team Georgies Boys gave themselves a vital advantage in their Division 2 Playoff Semi-final First Leg, edging past Atleterna in a tight encounter, finishing 48–45. It's a slender lead heading into the second leg, but a crucial one as they look to avoid relegation and potentially secure promotion.
In the other semi-final, Whalley Range FC secured a significant first-leg victory away to By 'Eck, winning by a solid 48–39 margin. This puts Whalley Range firmly in the driving seat ahead of the return legs.
Division 3 Playoff Semi-final First Leg
In Division 3, Makrillarna delivered a commanding performance in their first leg against Kamikazees, comfortably winning 64–43. They'll take a healthy 21-point cushion into the second leg, putting them in a strong position for the final.
Meanwhile, Bongo Fury also established a decisive lead, beating Henry C FC convincingly, 60–42. Henry C FC face an uphill battle to overturn this 18-point deficit in the second leg.
Reality Matchleague
Shadwell Town RL tightened their grip on the top spot in the Reality Matchleague, comfortably beating bottom-side IFHarltonham Absolut 95–47, their sixth consecutive victory.
Second-placed Van De Ven Diagram returned to winning ways, securing a solid 76–50 win over Wills Wingdings RL, but they remain five points adrift of Shadwell.
In a thrilling mid-table clash, third-placed Pukki Bowl FC narrowly edged out struggling Unbeatables RL 79–78, maintaining their slim hold on third place, while Unbeatables slip to seventh after a worrying run of losses.
Mafia Four Lions RL continue their good form, overcoming Swehoops 71–60 to stay fourth and in contention for a strong finish. Swehoops remain ninth, just above the bottom.
Finally, No Kane Do comfortably beat GAIS 72–35, moving them up into fifth and leaving GAIS dangerously close to the foot of the table in eighth..
Manager of the Week
Manager of the Week goes to Stuart Lawton yet again, with Shadwell Town topping the AllSwengland on 96 points. He's having an outstanding campaign in both the regular and Reality leagues. Worst MOTW goes to Ade Duke, whose By 'Eck side managed just 39 points.
