Week 17 in the Matchleague Prem delivered dramatic results and key shifts in the standings.
Dzeko & The Bunnymen reclaimed top spot with a narrow 38–30 win over Alpha Athletic, leapfrogging Tastur Bondai Barca, who suffered a shock 50–45 defeat to bottom-placed IFK Harltonham. JDeacon7 moved up to fourth after a 41–41 draw with Fossil Park East, overtaking Moaty's Maniacs, who were edged out 45–43 by Unbeatables. Coys FC remained third despite narrowly losing 45–44 to Wills Wingdings, who secured a much-needed victory. Elsewhere, Badly Good scraped a 40–38 win over Replacements to keep their survival hopes alive, while Victorious Secret edged Forever QPR 45–44 in a thrilling encounter.
In Div 1, Calzio retained top spot despite a surprising 51–41 loss to Real Ale Rovers, whose victory lifted them further from the relegation zone. St Ives Seagulls were held to a dramatic 48–48 draw by Empire of the Son, while Shadwell Town solidified third place with a commanding 45–36 win over Gremlins. Mafia Four Lions climbed into the top four with a dominant 72–41 victory over Beckenbaurfly, while Abone FC edged Missing Link 50–49 in a thriller, moving level on points with Gremlins, who remain ninth. Gothatters FC secured a vital 56–54 win over Commitments to boost their survival hopes, while Jurysout battled to a 43–38 victory against Team Gotland, moving up to fifth place.
In the second leg of the John Walsh Cup semi-finals, Swedish managers swept aside their English rivals to book an all-Swedish final.
Pukki Bowl FC built on their narrow first-leg lead (67–61) with a commanding 63–47 victory over Unbeatables RL, securing a 130–108 aggregate win. Swehoops, holding a slim two-point advantage from their first leg (68–66), crushed Mafia Four Lions RL 67–33 in the return leg to claim a dominant 135–99 aggregate result.
Manager of the Week goes to Stuart Williams, who guided his Reality League team, Wills Wingdings RL, to an AllSwengland-high 82 points. Worst MOTW goes to Nigel Deacon, who managed only 30 points for Alpha Athletic.
